Can DNG send out deadline pending notifications

In using DNG reviews, you can aside a due date. if the review is past the due date it gets set to Overdue.

First - Does this state transition send out a notification for reviewers on over due reviews?

2nd - Can notifications be send on pending deadlines - eg due date - 10days? Are there other means to due this?
