Sample Project Creation Fails
I tried to create the sample project area using the wizard from the Welcome view. It failed with some obtuse java error (sorry, didn't save it). The problem is, it created some artifacts but I have no idea if all were created. I tried to rerun the wizard but I now get an error saying the project area already exists, which of course, is true. I then began to delete any of the projects only to find I couldn't delete the project area (they can only be archived). So, I'd like to get the sample project area created (and all it's associated structure) but I can't seem to undo the partial creation the wizard did for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you open the Error View (Ctrl+3 then type `error view` to perform a quick search for the view). The error view should have the log message and stack trace of what happened.
One trick that may work is to rename the JUnit project that was created to JUnit2 and try again. I seem to recall that it looks for existing projects by name, and that is probably what failed the second time around. |
I renamed the project area and archived it. Thanks! That allowed me to run the setup wizard again. So the error I get is
"Exception occurred creating sample project" The details are "java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException". I finish out the wizard and I get the message "A project area with the name JUnit Project already exists". Not sure how that could be since I just renamed and archived it. It didn't show in the Team Org view before running the wizard nor was shown in the list of available project areas when selecting connect to project area option. Displaying the error view shows the full exception stack trace. The last error in the trace is java.net.URISyntaxException: Illegal character in path file:/C:/Program Files/ibm/TeamConcert/client/eclipse//../../sandbox/. Could it be the client or at least the setup wizard doesn't like spaces in the path? Regards, Tim |

Other errors have been reported when there are spaces in the pathname at
which Team Concert has been installed (see https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Jazz%20Project#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=40439 ). Please move your installation to a path without spaces, and retry. If this turns out to be the cause of the problem, we can add this information as a comment on 40439. tfeeney wrote: I renamed the project area and archived it. Thanks! That allowed me |
Hi Tim,
looks like there is a problem with spaces in the path. Can you please open a work item against Agile Planning with the full stack trace so that we can figure out which part of the sample setup code has these problems. Thanks Dirk tfeeney wrote: I renamed the project area and archived it. Thanks! That allowed me |
Tim,
do you still have the stack trace ? Regards Dirk tfeeney wrote: I renamed the project area and archived it. Thanks! That allowed me |
