What is the impact on RAM system when bulk assets are deleted at a time?

 Situation: We are writing a batch job which cleans the assets in RAM . 
Process: In this process we first pre-retire  then retire . Finally we want  to delete all the asset which are retired 3 months back.
Question : 1.Can we delete the assets in a batch, the reason asking this, in the past we had a situation if the asset is deleted still it shows in search results. Refer https://jazz.net/forum/questions/100251/asset-deleted-in-ram-but-it-is-still-shown-in-search-result.
2.Will there be impact on the RAM server(indexing, performance, any other....?)? 
3. Is it suggested to do it during business hours?

For your information, Currently we have more than 25000 assets in RAM.
