Upgrading from RTC2.0 M2 client to RTC 2.0 as eclipse plugin
![]()
Hi
We were asked to try out the eclipse plugin of RTC 2.0 when it was still a beta product - M2 release. At that time the RTC zip / tar file came with a nice installer which we could launch and it would ask to be pointed to an existing workspace so that RTC worked as a plugin. Now when we are trying to upgrade to the GA version, the Zip file no longer has a installer. In fact we now need to launch the eclipse that came with RTC. But I already have eclipse 3.4 and should be able to use it and it also has several other plugins installed in there. I don't wish to use the eclipse that came with RTC ... Is there a way that I can upgrade from M2 to GA version by simply doing a software upgrade? What is the repository from where a client upgrade can be done? Is is really weird that while one product from Rational - CCRC - comes with an upgrade and an eclipse plugin option, the other - RTC - does not. I found a nice article on how to use RTC with eclipse 3.5 - http://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/InstallRTC20IntoEclipse35 . Is tehre something like this for Eclipse 3.4 too? Can someone let me know if this is at all possible? Thanks, Abhi |

Hi Abhi,

From the downloads page: https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/2.0?p=allDownloads look for the "Client for Eclipse IDE" under a section with the heading "Installation Manager". Thanks, Craig Chaney Jazz server team In fact we now need to launch the eclipse |
