Jazz Reporting Service and Dashboard Templates

Miguel Tomico (5001323) | asked May 07 '15, 9:58 a.m.
The new Jazz Reporting Service looks good. It indeed fills a gap between built-in widgets and Insight reports.
But, unfortunately, RTC lacks functionality to configure JRS reports as widgets in the Dashboard Templates. Therefore, we cannot automate the Dashboard creation. Note that this is something critical in complex systems engineering, where we have thousands of widgets to configure.

We implemented a workaround to populate work item queries and BIRT parameters into the Dashboard Templates
https://jazz.net/forum/questions/168837/cannot-create-dashboard-templates-with-parametrized-queries
but this won't be possible with JRS reports. Even if JRS reports can be added to the Dashboard Templates functionality in a future version of RTC, it will be difficult to populate parameter (Filter) values automatically, as they refer to IDs in the Datawarehouse.

So,
It looks like something that is hardly possible today is going to be worse with JRS.

Can anybody provide some insight about this topic?
Any plans to provide the ability to create dashboards automatically?

Thank you.
