Work item for multiple teams

Cesar Ho (811) | asked Jan 07 '15, 9:53 p.m.

If I have a task (work item), say a Technical Specificaiton, which required each of the development teams to complete and upload it to RTC.

How can I setup this work item? Do I need to create each work item for each team, say "Tech. Spec for Team 1" and "Tech. Spec for Team 2", etc?

Hi Cesar,

As of now a task can have only one owner.
So for each team you have to create separate separate work item("Task").
Create copy of the same work item(task).

Thanks

I would have a story, get specifications, and then a task for each team that delivers their part.
case fundamentally htat is what you are doing.. collecting work product from each tech team, and combining them into a final work product.

I found that my project has no way to create Story.

The only things I can choose are Defect, Task, Project Change Request, Issue, Business Need, Risk, Risk Action, Milestone.

that means you have selected the Formal Project Mgmt template, not the scrum template for this project area

but I would still create unique tasks for each teams deliverables.

I agree with Sam,

Business Need would be the Story (plan item)
And then child tasks assigned to the team's members.
