Bugzilla defect tracking to RTC

Jayant Koppikar (1133) | asked Jul 02 '14, 5:04 a.m.
We are in process of migrating BugZilla defect tracking to RTC defect tracking. We are looking for :
1) Best practices / Guide / Documentation in migrating defect data from BugZilla to RTC Defect tracking
2) Documentation on process adoption from BugZilla to RTC as defect life cycle in these tools may be different

Hello,

I guess a good place to start would be this extensive article:

This is fantastic. We will go through the article for import. Do we have any article which shows mapping of bugzilla defect life cycle vs RTC defect life cycle ?

Hi Jayant,
as the defect process in a tool can be defined/changed by the users, there won't be a general mapping to migrate from Bugzilla or any other bugtracking tool.

You have to look for the process in both tools and the process you want to live in your project.
If RTC defect is missing something, you'll have to check, if you implement it in RTC defect or if you can live without it.

greetings georg.
