How to update a workitem state or status via OSLC?

Hi,

I am not able to update the workitem state using PUT operation.

Is it possible to directly update rtc_cm:state or should we do any workaround to update the status.

I am able to update other properties such as title,description etc.But stuck with status.

Any help or suggestions,
