Integrating JENKINS and RTC when both are in different network

Mallanagouda Patil (40813) | asked Mar 05 '14, 4:42 a.m.
Planning to use RTC for change management. Need help in integrating existing servers. Please find details below.
We use SUBVERSION for source code management and JENKINS for build management and both these servers are located at client place. We are planning to setup RTC server at organization network from where client network (SVN & JENKINS) not accessible. There is ODC from which both networks accessible. We link SVN revisions and RTC tasks using eclipse (containing both SVN & RTC plugins) from ODC.
There is need to request build, publishing build and revision links to RTC tasks/items for traceability, monitoring from dashboard or report.

Any idea how this can be done when servers are in different network.

Thanks in advance!.

I am not sure how to do the configuration, but I would be very concerned about network latency if you are running various hops and in seperate networks.

RTC assumes a permanent network connection between components..  the IP address is not relevant.

So this should just work..   In my test environment, I have jenkins on another network (ip address range) from my RTC environment.

of course as Stephanie mentions, network latency may make it erratic or non-performant
