How to report at a Test Step Level

Rahul Sharma (622) | asked Jan 08 '14, 5:11 p.m.
We have access to both RQM and Insight as a reporting tool. We are wanting to be able to generate reports at a Test Step Level. We have captured our Testing requirements in the form of Test Suite-Test Cases-Test Scripts.

There are multiple Test Cases within a Test Suite and multiple Steps within a Script. In order for us to accurately determine at which step a test failed how would we be able to generate a reporting using either RQM or Insight. I have gone through the built in RQM reports and none of them appear to address these requirements.

Thanks for any assistance.

Regards,
Rahul.

Hello Rahul,

this thread is about a similar request:

Can I Extract Test Script Steps Using Rational Insight?
https://jazz.net/forum/questions/125981/can-i-extract-test-script-steps-using-rational-insight

referencing the Quality management data dictionary: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m3/topic/com.ibm.rational.test.qm.doc/topics/qm-roles.html The test script step information is only available at the Test Case Result level through: Operational Data Store > Execution Result Area > Execution Step Result I think this a subset of the information that you need as the steps for a test script that has not been executed won't probably appear.
