Compare file with remote

I have created Two streams and each a component. I have two repository workspaces. No I want to compare a file with the other stream

I have done the following steps:
1. Selected the file in Visual Studio 2008 and right clicked on that file.
 2. Compare with Remote
3. Component in another repository or stream
4. It is giving me the following error

Please help me..

It sounds like you've created two different components and want to compare a file from each component with each other. The compare with action is used to compare that exact item with a different state of that item in another location (stream, your sandbox, etc.). Since those files aren't the same item, you would have to load the content and use a compare editor.
