Can't apply 1.0.1 license activation kit after upgrading

Guowei Jim Hu (1.0k910353) | asked Nov 17 '08, 1:25 p.m.
CRJAZ0975I The policy requires the bundle com.ibm.team.jazz.server[1.0.1,1.1.0), but it could not be found

I keep getting this error message after upgrading my installation of Jazz 1.0 to 1.0.1 on Linux when trying to apply the 1.0.1 activation kit.

I have two instance of Jazz server running as WebSphere application. One is configured using the default installation of Jazz server and the upgrading is successful after I manually restore the original provision_files overwritten by the Installation Manager.

The other instance of Jazz server is setup by copying the Jazz config files to another directory and installed with another instance of WebSphere application server. Even after I copied all the config files from the 1.0.1 updated installation, I just can't pass the license activation part, and the server status page via Jazz Web UI alsways display:
Server Version 1.0 (I20080618-1642).

What went wrong? How do I debug this? Do I have to create a new instace of Jazz server each time I do an upgrading?

It sounds like the second server has not re-provisioned with the new
1.0.1 version of the plugins. Visiting the URL
https://<your>:9443/jazz/admin?action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.serverReset
Should cause the server to reset it's plugin configuration and the
server will re-provision the server plugins when the server is
restarted. Can you try visiting the serverReset link and then
restarting the server?

Not so fast. As 9443 is the port for the server which has been updated succssfully, so it won't count. The other server still show the same error message.

Can you post the provisioning log from the server that doesn't work. In
your case (assuming the port number is 9447) it would be available at:
https://<your>:9447/jazz/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.provisionStatus

I also might have mistyped the serverRest URL. I think I had a '?'
where a '#' should be. Can you try:
https://<your>:9443/jazz/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.serverReset

Matt,
That is it: # instead of ?.
I now see the Reset button, and after the reset, restart Jazz, and I finally see it:
Server Version 1.0.1 (I20081024-1335)
Thanks
