The task describes how to update a stream that represents the new product variant or version to ensure that it contains
all new applicable local streams, which contribute sets of relevant engineering artifacts. Furthermore, each of the new
local streams contributes correct versions of relevant engineering artifacts to the new overall product variant or
version. Therefore, it is critical that the overall product stream is assembled prior to the engineering activities
taking place within this new product stream (e.g. ensuring that proper versions of artifacts are being linked, ensuring
that engineers work in the same context across multiple engineering disciplines and system components, etc.)
Preconditions:
-
At least one local stream created
Postconditions:
-
A new product stream assembled and ready for ensuing engineering work
Steps
1. Browse and locate the product stream that you need to re-configure in your product definition or configuration
management tool.
a. Review its contributing local configurations.
b. Replace each of the contributing configurations, selecting an appropriate local stream for each engineering
discipline or system component to replace a current baseline
c. Review the new set of contributing local configurations before saving the overall configuration
