When you use IBM Rational Team Concert Shell, you might see multiple tray icons on the taskbar.

Symptom

• Multiple Rational Team Concert Shell tray icons are on the taskbar.
• After you set a folder as a sandbox from the Rational Team Concert context menu, the Sandboxes node in Rational Team Concert Shell Control Panel does not show the correct entry.

Environment

This issue occurs with Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows 8.1, and Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems.

Diagnosing the problem

To diagnose this problem, perform one of the following actions:

• Check whether multiple Rational Team Concert Shell tray icons are on the taskbar.
• After you set a sandbox from the Rational Team Concert context menu, check whether the sandbox entry in the Sandboxes node in the Rational Team Concert Shell Control Panel is correct.
• Open Task Manager. On the Processes tab, check whether more than one explorer.exe process is listed.
• Open Windows Explorer. Click Tools > Folder Options. In the Folder Options window, click the View tab. In the Advanced Settings section, check whether Launch folder windows in a separate process is enabled.

Reason

Rational Team Concert Shell does not support a configuration where multiple Windows Explorer processes are running at the same time.

Workaround

To work around the problem, clear the Launch folder windows in a separate process option.
