Configuring Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 support for Rational Team Concert

This article describes how to configure Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 support in the Rational Team Concert Client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, Rational Team Concert Shell, and Rational Team Concert integration with Microsoft Source Code Control Interface.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Append the following line to the file install-directory/3rd Party/scmtools/eclipse/scm.ini.
    -Dcom.ibm.team.repository.client.protocol=TLSv1.2
  2. Optional: If you need to connect to multiple Rational Team Concert servers and some of them do not support TLSv1.2, replace the line from the previous step with
    -Dcom.ibm.team.repository.client.protocol=SSL_TLSv2
  3. For the client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE:
    1. If you are using the client for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 IDE, install Microsoft .NET framework 4.5
    2. In the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, click Team Concert > Options.
    3. In the left pane, expand Team Concert > General.
    4. Select Use TLS 1.2 and click OK.
  4. For Rational Team Concert Shell:
    1. Install Microsoft .NET framework 4.5.
    2. In the Rational Team Concert Shell window, click Manage Preferences > Other Preferences
    3. Under Security, select Use TLS 1.2 and click Save.
  5. For the Rational Team Concert integration with Microsoft Source Code Control Interface:
    1. Install Microsoft .NET framework 4.5.
    2. In the Team Concert MS-SCCI Control Panel window, under Manage Preferences, click Modify MS-SCCI Preferences.
    3. Under Security, select Use TLS 1.2 and click OK.
