Which iteration does the Release Burndown report use

Let's say I have an iteration called Release 1.0 and several sprint iterations under it. When I run the Release Burndown report, does it pull estimates from work items for all the sprint iterations under Release 1.0. Or does it only pull estimates from work items that are planned for "Release 1.0".

No, you will need to open the report parameters and explicitly select the iterations.
