Question about distant team using RTC

Xavier Plattard (61) | asked Jun 25 '08, 12:55 p.m.
Hello,

Let me explain our situation: we are a "splitted" team, one part of the team can not access IBM network (we can transfer files to them, though). Our concern here is to know if there's a way of keeping two RTC servers in sync.

One possible solution could be a import/export feature.

We are pretty eager to hear from anyone who could propose a solution.

Thanks,

X.

We have exactly the same problem, the only way we can collaborate is via email. It will be a great benefit if one Jazz Server have the ability to sync with other Jazz server like in CQ|CC MultiSite. Maybe there is a way to sync jazz servers on a DB level?

For RTC 1.0, we don't have support for synchronizing different repositories. For example, flowing change sets or work item between repositories.

In the short term, the best I can offer is an article on how you can manage 3rd party vendor code so that one remote team can consume several source drops from another team and build upon it.

Do we need to RFE or this feature is already in future plans?

That's really the project management part we are trying to address here...

Do we need a feature request?

Generally if you find something lacking from Team Concert or the Jazz Platform, you should just open an enhancement request. If something similar already exists, then your enhancement request will be marked of a duplicate, you will be subscribed to the enhancement of record, and the Jazz team will be aware of another community member's interest in the enhancement.

In summary, please don't hesitate to create enhancement or defect requests - they're always helpful.
