Is it possible to automate timeline advancement in RTC?

Becky McDermott (921139) | asked Sep 19 '19, 6:15 p.m.
We have RTC timelines configured and we have been manually advancing the timeline at the end of each sprint.  Is there a way to automate this?  It seems like since the timelines are fully defined, RTC should be able to auto-advance the timeline to the next iteration.

We are on version 6.0.6.1 iFix003.

 See work item: https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=88813

Until that is implemented, you would need to write a custom API-based tool to perform the update.

Do not call that a 'script' Geoff. Basically one would need to create a custom API based tool.

Even if this were possible I wouldn't recommend it.

The reason this is a manual process is because in reality there will always be some overlap between the end of one sprint and the start of the next, even if it's just tidying up and closing off work items. You want to be able to do this against the assigned sprint, and then make the next one the default.

I make it part of the retrospective to officially close off and progress the plan - becomes part of the routine then
