When using the Java Client API, is there a standard or format for exporting items so they can be used in other programs? For example, if I use the API to retrieve a work item or change set, the API classes will return java objects for those entities. Is there a standard for how to write those objects to a file to be used in another program (such as an xml schema, etc.)?

When using the Java Client API, is there a standard or format for
exporting items so they can be used in other programs? For example,
if I use the API to retrieve a work item or change set, the API
classes will return java objects for those entities. Is there a
standard for how to write those objects to a file to be used in
another program (such as an xml schema, etc.)?

What would be the best way to find out more information about work item
templates? Is there a work item that tracks this work? (I tried a work
item search for "work item templates", but the top few hits didn't seem
relevant).
