How to share a RTC work item query across projects?

I would like to share a RTC work item query across projects.  I tried the following steps in a suggestion recommended on one of postings to this forum without success:

1- Make a query
2- Share the query to project area. This action makes it a predefined query
3- Update "process sharing" configuration in source project to "Allow other project to use the process configuration from this project area"
4- Update "process sharing" configuration in destination project to "Use the process configuration from another project area for this project area". Select the source project.

The query could not be found in the destination project.

Any help would be appreciated.
