Build Forge integration with Infosphere DataStage.

Ruth Goreti Gonzalez Rodriguez (25111) | asked Jan 11 '18, 3:48 p.m.

Hi,

We are looking for a solution which integrates Rational Build Forge and IBM Infosphere DataStage, we have been investigating but we haven't found a suggested architecture, is not supported this integration?
Is it possible to create an hybrid solution like a "bridge": Build Forge -> RTC <- DataStage?
Is UrbanCode Build a better solution to have this integration with DataStage?

Thanks for your comments!
Regards.

Hi Ruth,

What is the purpose of using DataStage?
If it is for defining a ETL job for Data warehouse, then the answer is "Most likely". Although there is no official statement that supports RTC - DataStage integration, given that RTC - Data Manager was supported previously (in Rational Insight), you can do the same way as Data Manager integration, such as creating ODBC interface using Reportable REST API. It is never supported to access RTC database directly, so need to go through REST API. However the disadvantage is that there is limited information available about Build in REST API. Check what info is available from https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ReportsRESTAPI
