How can I search the description field of a RQM Test Case ?

Leif Jansson (23134) | asked Jan 15 '14, 1:26 p.m.

Hi, how is the best way if I want to search for a specific word e.g. "permission" in the RQM description field on one or more e.g. Test Cases ?

The RQM GUI "Browse Test Cases" doesn't have the "description" field.

 Leif,
You can use the Full Text Search functionality at the top right hand corner of the UI
The search does query through the Test Case Description field

Leif,

Some more information on 'Full Text Search' - http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m5/topic/com.ibm.rational.test.qm.doc/topics/t_search_test_assets.html.
For a quick search you could use the 'Type Filter Text' text box, see http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m5/topic/com.ibm.rational.test.qm.doc/topics/t_search_table_view.html.

Thanx all, totally forgot that "Full text search" field :-)

Thanx also for the links.

"Quick search" in Browse Test Cases doesn't search Description.

Maybe ask Rational for an improvement of the "Full text search" field so you can use the result for e.g. input to a Test Suite for later execution ?

Also ask for improvement on the "Quick search" to work as the "Full text search" field ?
