Workaround: Code window context menu of code-behind file acting on the XAML page instead

Platform: Windows
Client: Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.1 client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE

Summary

When using the Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.1 client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, if you use the View Code option from a XAML markup page, say App.xaml, to open its code-behind file, App.xaml.cs, and invoke Jazz source control operations from the code window’s context menu, it acts on the XAML markup page instead.

More Information

Symptom

  • Compare With > Previous in Repository brings up the compare editor for the XAML instead of code-behind, as is the case with the other Jazz source control code window context menu options.

Cause

This appears to be a bug in Microsoft’s Visual Studio SDK.

Resolving the problem

Instead of using the View Code option, open the code-behind directly from Solution Explorer, or exercise the Jazz source control operations from the code-behind’s context menu from Solution Explorer.
