IBM Cloud applications are hosted by IBM within a secure SoftLayerŽ data center. The IBM team provide 99.9% service-level objective (SLO) availability and scaling up to support thousands of users. IBM monitors the environment for 24x7 availability and provides all infrastructure-related support, including patch installation and optional upgrades on the customer's schedule.

IBM Cloud applications provide you with a single-tenant IBM software environment. The IBM team deploys the IBM products into an IBM SoftLayer Cloud Service Center, and monitors the solution for 24x7 availability. The IBM Cloud team installs a default configuration based on a preselected configuration template, deliver ongoing infrastructure, application, and provide support service remotely. This environment provides you with the following benefits:

  • Accelerated time to value: Use the cloud to get up and running faster, provide development teams with the necessary capabilities for success, and maintain compliance with corporate policies.
  • Optimized operation costs: Eliminate your dependency on IT for deployment of development tools, reduce infrastructure costs, and free up valuable IT resources.
  • Rapid scalability: Scale up quickly without having to deal with such issues as availability of IT infrastructure or skills.

Supported Data Centers

IBM Cloud supports a subset of SoftLayer data centers. Data centers supported by these offerings are located in:

  • Washington DC
  • San Jose, California
  • London England
  • Frankfurt Germany
  • Melbourne, Australia
  • Softlayer Federal Data Center

Note: IBM deploys the Base or Extended versions of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management applications in a virtual private cloud (VPC) to data centers in the US, UK, Germany, and Australia. IBM will consider these deployment for you based on your specific requirements.
