This guideline describes how the role performing this task baselines a stream, as a step towards a release. Part of this is creation of baselines of all the local streams individual engineering domain tools. The second part is assembling a global baseline.

Steps

1. Set up and initiate the work needed to complete this task 

a. Open the task and read the description

b. Mark the task to Start Working, and save the task.

c. Send a comment in the Task to configuration leads of individual engineering tools to create local baselines for this stream.

2. After receiving notification from local configuration leads that local stream have been baselined, the Configuration Lead completes the Task

a. Open global stream, and replace local contributions with newly created local baselines. The tagging approach can be used where local configurations can have a tag, so that the overall configuration lead can easily search for these local configurations based on the tag, instead of relying on a naming convention exclusively. An example of a tag is “amr_mobile_us_fp1”.

b. Converts the global stream to a global baseline

c. Complete the Task in the change management tool
