New & Noteworthy for IBM Engineering Test Management 7.0.3 M1

Description
ETM Excel/Word Importer Utility ETM Excel/Word Importer Utility can use the default value of custom categories

The ETM Excel/Word Importer Utility now assigns default values for categories automatically when you create a test artifact without providing value for a category that has a default value defined. This feature is supported only for the CREATE operation.

If a category has a default value that is defined and you do not provide the category value in the Microsoft Excel file, the export operation is successful, and the test artifact is assigned with the default category value.

If a category is marked as required and does not have a default category value, the export operation fails when you do not provide the category value for the required category in the Microsoft Excel file.

Simplified Linking Linking OSLC artifacts by using the copy-and-paste feature is now supported across Jazz Team Servers

You can now use the copy-and-paste feature to create links across Jazz Team Servers. You can use this feature to create links between applications that are registered to the same or different Jazz Team Servers. For example, you can copy a test artifact from ETM in server 1 and paste it in a work item in EWM or requirement in DOORS Next in server 2 to create the link.

You can use the following keyboard shortcuts for creating links across Jazz Team Servers:
  • Copy Link: Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac)
  • Paste as link: Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows) or Command+Shift+V (Mac)
Notes:
  • To use this feature, you must register the same email ID across Jazz Team Servers.
  • This feature makes the ETM 7.0.2 release incompatible with the ETM 7.0.3 and later releases for copy-and-paste linking.
The last link type that is used to link the artifacts in the Create Links dialog is saved as a user preference

When you drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste a work item from EWM or requirement from DOORS Next into an artifact editor in ETM, the Create Links dialog box is shown with the list of supported link types. You can select the required link type from the Create Links dialog box and then click the Create Links button to link the artifacts.

Now, the selected link type is saved as a user preference for the project area. Next time, when you link the same type of artifacts, the last used link type is preselected in the Create Links dialog box.
Usability Enhancements New command-line argument is added to ETM Copy Utility to copy formal reviews and approvals

A new command-line argument -ca, -copyApprovals is added to the ETM Copy Utility to copy the formal reviews, approvals, and comments associated with the source test artifacts.

For more information, see the ETM Copy Utility WIKI.
Web UI ETM allows selecting multiple category values with a single click

You can now select multiple values of a multi-value category with a single click. If the number of category values exceeds the number that the initial category drop-down menu can include, you can click the More option to open the enhanced category selection dialog box.
