What happens next?
A jazz.net articles editor will review your content and provide any initial feedback to you via E-mail. Once your article is accepted, you may have some refinements to make based on editorial and technical reviews. Feedback is a good thing, and most articles require a couple of drafts before they are finalized and ready for publication.
Why should I format my article using the provided template?
Using the template helps us publish your article sooner. It allows the editors to concentrate on the content of your article rather than its formatting.
How long will it take to get my article published?
The entire process from submission to publish typically takes 3-5 weeks. Articles that require more technical review or significant updates may take longer. Your availability to incorporate any feedback is also a factor.
Can I submit an idea for an article I have not yet written?
Yes! If you have a great idea but aren't sure if the topic is right for the jazz.net library, send us an email. We'll give you feedback before you invest time in authoring a full article. Include the following important information in your note:
- clear, concise summary of your proposed topic
- description of why this topic is important to the jazz.net community and how readers will benefit
May I submit an article to jazz.net that has already been published elsewhere?
All submitted articles must be original, not published prior to submission to jazz.net, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
If you already published an article that would be helpful to the jazz.net community, we want to share it. Send an email to news@jazz.net with a link.
What are the terms and conditions for publication?

English is not my first language. Is that a barrier to getting published on jazz.net?
We have many authors whose native language is not English. Our priority for the library is making great content available to the jazz.net community. Our editors are here to help with grammar and readability.
Why wasn't my article published?
If your article wasn't selected for publishing in the library, please don't take it personally! There are many reasons this can happen, including:
- your topic is covered by another article in the library
- the problem your article solves is not relevant for a wide audience
- the content is better suited for a forum post or a more detailed whitepaper
- your article was already published somewhere else (and we decided to link to it instead)
- the content is not relevant to the jazz.net community
- your article contains specific claims (e.g. performance, results) that cannot be confirmed
- some of the included content was not original, and could not be published in the library
If your article is not accepted you have a few options:
- consider any feedback you received from the editor and rewrite your article
- find a new topic and draft a new article
I still have questions! What should I do?
Send your questions to articles@jazz.net. An editor with above-average social skills will get back to you as quickly as possible.
