Tip: Migrating work-item-based requirements for Rational Quality Manager in a multiple-server topology
Last Updated: January 9, 2013
Build Basis: Rational Quality Manager 2.x, 3.x
If your target topology has Rational Quality Manager and RM using different servers, such as multiple Tomcat servers, then the repositoryURL should be specified when you migrate work-item-based requirements from RQM V2.x to V3.x.
Prior to Rational Quality Manager version 3.0.1, requirements were managed locally within Rational Quality Manager or in an external requirements provider, such as IBM Rational RequisitePro, IBM Rational DOORS, or IBM Rational Requirements Composer. In version 3.0.1, requirements are no longer managed locally. If you are upgrading from version 2, you must deliberately migrate your local, work-item-based requirements to the Requirements Management application that you can install with version 3.0.1.
The Rational Quality Manager Version 3.0.1 Information Center describes the required steps for migrating work-item-based requirements from earlier versions of IBM Rational Quality Manager. For certain topologies, the migration help might be incorrect.
When you are completing step 6 of Migrating work-item-based requirements, a link to a list of parameters for
repotools-* -refactorRequirements is provided. In that reference, repositoryURL is listed as not required. However, if your target topology
has RQM and RRM using different servers, then the repositoryURL should be specified.
