Workaround: Symbolic link support does not work on all platforms

Summary

The symbolic link support provided by RTC SCM does not work on platforms for which the native libraries required for the support are not available.

Problem

In order to support symbolic links, the RTC SCM client depends on several native libraries to create and access the symbolic links. One or more of these libraries are not available for the following platforms:

  • AIX/Linux PPC 64-bit
  • Solaris 64 bit
  • IBM i
Workarounds

For the 64-bit platforms that are missing the required libraries, use the 32-bit client. For the other platforms, there is currently no workaround.
