Platform: Windows
Client: Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.1 Client for Microsoft Visual Studio

Problem Description

When using the Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.1 Client for Microsoft Visual Studio, the user right-clicks on a node in the Team Artifacts view and a wrong context menu shows up.

More Information

    Symptom

The user right-clicks on a node in the Team Artifacts view, or any view displaying composite nodes. The context menu that shows up is for another type of node.

    Cause

This happens because of refresh issues in the Windows Presentation Framework (WPF). WPF caches data about the selected node and occasionally uses stale cached data. Because of this, context menu for a different node type may occasionally show up when the user right-clicks on a node in the Team Artifacts view, or any view displaying composite nodes.

    Workarounds

Before right-clicking on the node, click the node to select it; the stale data is discarded and the correct context menu comes up.
