TN0011: Installing Hot-fixes for IBM Lotus Sametime Connect

Summary

This Tech Tip describes how to install any necessary hot-fixes for IBM Lotus Sametime Connect 7.5.1/8.0.x to be used as Instant Messaging (IM) service provider for Rational Team Concert.

In order to work properly as an IM service provider, the Sametime update site which is part of the IBM Rational Team Concert install contains additional hot-fixes which are encouraged to be installed.

Depending on the version of Sametime you are using, you should install the following hot-fixes in addition to the features which are part of the Jazz Collaboration category:

• Sametime 7.5.1

When installing the plugins from the update site, open the Sametime 7.5.1 MQTT Client v2.0.0.6 category and select the MQTT Client v.2.0.0.6 Hotfix feature. This hot-fix addresses some problems when connecting to Sametime 7.5.1 using Rational Team Concert. It is recommended to apply this hot-fix only if you experience problems when connecting to Sametime 7.5.1, in particular missing online presence or requests to initiate a chat that have no effect.

• Sametime 8.0

When installing the plugins from the update site, open the Sametime 8.0 JWRZ-7ETP5W Hotfix category and select all features. This hot-fix addresses some problems when dragging Rational Team Concert artifacts such as work items, iteration plans or build results to a Sametime 8.0 chat window. It is recommended to apply this hot-fix only if you experience problems when dragging Rational Team Concert artifacts to chat windows. It fixes some issues related to wrong or missing links being created after dropping the artifact to a chat window.

• Sametime 8.0.1

When installing the plugins from the update site, open the Sametime 8.0.1 JWRZ-7ETP5W Hotfix category and select all features. This hot-fix addresses some problems when dragging Rational Team Concert artifacts such as work items, iteration plans or build results to a Sametime 8.0.1 chat window. It is recommended to apply this hot-fix only if you experience problems when dragging Rational Team Concert artifacts to chat windows. It fixes some issues related to wrong or missing links being created after dropping the artifact to a chat window.

All hot-fixes can be installed together with the features from the Jazz Collaboration category.
