Workaround: New buildable file not built

Workaround Summary

When using the new 4.0 dependency build template, if you add a new buildable file after the initial successful build, the file will not get built.

More Information

Problem

Rational Team Concert 4.0 introduces two new enterprise dependency build templates for z/OS and IBM i builds. One of the new dependency build enhancements is a light-weight change set analysis mode that significantly speeds up the dependency analysis phase of delta builds for large build workspaces. (Delta builds are build requests on a build definition that has had at least one successful build.) There is currently a defect (Nothing built when re-adding previously deleted BMS folders (212988)) in the change set analysis mode in which new buildable files that are added to the build workspace stream after a successful initial build are not detected and therefore not built.

Workaround

As a workaround to this problem, if you add new buildable files, turn off the change set analysis mode. Turning off the change set analysis mode will trigger a full dependency analysis, which will detect the new files. To turn the change set analysis mode off, add the build property “team.enterprise.build.dependency.forceFullAnalysis” to the build definition properties table and set the value to true.
