Last Updated: May 31 2012
Build Basis: Rational Team Concert 4.0
Summary
The Rational Team Concert 4.0 Eclipse Client may be installed into an existing Eclipse 3.8 environment, though this is not a supported configuration.
More Information
The Rational Team Concert (RTC) Eclipse Client 4.0 is based on Eclipse 3.6.2. It is possible to install the RTC 4.0 features into an Eclipse 3.8 environment using Installation Manager but it is not a supported scenario.
Installation Manager (IM) shows warnings after installing Rational Team Concert (RTC) Eclipse Client v4.0 into existing Eclipse v3.8 due to some unsatisfied bundle constraints.
Validation of Eclipse installation configuration failed because it has unsatisfied bundle constraints
Required bundle “org.mortbay.jetty.server” not found for bundle “org.mortbay.jetty.jasper”
Required bundle “org.apache.jasper” not found for bundle “com.ibm.ccl.help.preferenceharvester”
Required bundle “org.mortbay.jetty.util” not found for bundle “com.ibm.ccl.help.preferenceharvester”
Required bundle “org.mortbay.jetty.server” not found for bundle “com.ibm.ccl.help.preferenceharvester”
These warnings indicate that one feature of the RTC Help system (the preference harvester) will be unavailable. It is possible that other RTC or 3rd party features dependent on Jetty will not function as expected, though no other impact has been identified at this time.
