Workaround: Incorrect remote help URL for the client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE 4.0.1

Problem Summary

If you update the Rational Team Concert client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE from a release of version 4.0 to version 4.0.1, the remote help does not point to the correct URL.

Note: The Local Help Updater installs the correct Help version.

Problem

If you update from a release of version 4.0 to version 4.0.1, the remote help does not point to the correct URL because older metadata has not been deleted.

Workaround

Either update the URL in the client help or delete the older help metadata.

To set the correct help URL for the Rational Team Concert client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE:

    1. In the client, click Team Concert > Help > View Help.
    2. In the Help window, in the upper-left corner, click Help > Preferences.
    3. In the Preferences window, in the left pane, expand Help and click Content.
    4. In the Content pane, click the Help URL entry, and then click Edit.
    5. In the URL field, type http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m1.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Click Apply.

    To delete the help metadata that contains the older help URL:

    1. Close any Help windows.
    2. Navigate to the client help metadata folder. The folder is in a directory like this example: C:UsersusernameCLMWAR2012Help.
    3. In the CLMWAR2012Help folder, delete all of the contents.
    4. Open the client help and confirm that it points to http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m1.
