Workarounds: Money That Matters sample must be modified so that users who are not administrators can access projects
Last Updated: June 03, 2013
Build Basis: Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management 4.0.1
Problem Summary
Project areas in the Money That Matters sample must be modified so that users who are not administrators can access projects.
Problem
In version 4.0.1, project areas that are created by the Lifecycle Project Administration (LPA) application are visible to members of that project area and members of a child team area only. For more information, see Work Item 167146. This setting matches the default Access Control setting for project areas that are created in Jazz applications.
For the Money That Matters sample, to complete the steps in the documented scenarios, users who are not members of project areas must sometimes access those projects. For example, if Tammy, a sample user who is a member of the test team, logs into Rational Quality Manager and tries to link a test plan to a quality task in Rational Team Concert, an error occurs because Tammy does not have access to the Rational Team Concert project.
Workaround
The administrator that created the Money That Matters sample can edit each of the project areas to make them visible to all users. To make the project areas visible to all users, complete these steps:
- Log in to the LPA application as a user who is in the JazzAdmins repository group.
- In the list of lifecycle projects, find the lifecycle project for the Money That Matters sample.
- Click the first artifact container to edit it. Click the Access Control tab, and in the “Grant read access to” section, click Everyone. Click Save.
- For the other artifact containers in the lifecycle project for the sample, repeat the previous steps.
