Learning resources for Design Management

Several resources are available to help you learn to use the Design Management product, and the Rational® solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) effectively, depending on your role, skill level, interests, and the time you have available.
The following types of information are available to help you learn to use the design management capabilities effectively. For more information, explore the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management product documentation.

Integrated self-paced training

The integrated self-paced training (ISPT) provides learning resources to help architects and designers start sharing, collaborating, and managing design information across the application development lifecycle.

You can access the ISPT in the Design Management documentation, from the table of contents in the Overview section.

Tutorials

Tutorials provide task-based instructions for design management tasks. In some cases, they also provide the conceptual information that you need to complete a task. Use tutorials to learn or to remind yourself how to complete a task.

Many tutorials are available for the Design Management and CLM products. You can access tutorials in the documentation, from the table of contents, in the Tutorials section.

Money That Matters sample

The Money That Matters sample uses a fictitious banking company, JKE Banking, to illustrate a specific CLM usage example, and to highlight lifecycle collaboration and key CLM integration points. The sample includes a detailed scenario as well as a supporting lifecycle project and assets.

You can access the sample from the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management product documentation, from the table of contents, in the Samples section.

Tours

Tours offer a video overview of the main features and capabilities. View tours to get a high-level introduction to a product or capability.

Tours are available for the whole solution, for individual products, and for selected functionality. You can access tours in the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management product documentation, from the table of contents, in the Tours section.

Scenarios

Scenarios describe best practices for working in the CLM environment. Some of the scenarios are based on information from Tool Mentors in the IBM® Practices library. Scenarios describe how to perform multiple tasks to achieve a larger goal, such as managing risks or managing iterations.

The Collaborative Lifecycle Management scenario shows one way to use requirements management, quality management, and change and configuration management to release a product.

You can access the scenarios in the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management product documentation, from the table of contents, in the Scenarios section.

Jazz.net

Jazz™.net is the community site for Jazz technology and products; it contains articles, tips, downloads, and forums. IBM hosts the Jazz development work on Jazz.net, which means that you can interact directly with the development teams and other community members.
  • The Jazz.net Library contains articles, presentations, podcasts, and more.
  • In the Jazz.net Forums, you can share information with and get help from other Design Management and CLM users.
  • You can use the Jazz.net Community to connect with and participate in the wider Jazz community.
