Configuring notifications in the Eclipse client

You can configure your Jazz™ environment so that you are notified of events that are related to work items.

Configuring email notifications

To enable email notifications, complete the following steps.


  1. From the Members section of a project area or team area, right-click your user ID and select Open.
  2. In the User editor, click the Mail Configuration tab.
  3. Select the conditions for which you want to receive email notifications.
    Note: In any row, if you clear the Creator check box and set the Subscriber check box, you will not receive email notifications for a change to a work item that you created and subscribe to.
  4. Click Save to save your changes.

Configuring pop-up alerts

You can configure a small pop-up alert for work item changes made under specific conditions, and you can select the type of alert to receive.


  1. Click Window > Preferences. Expand General and select Notifications.
  2. Make sure that Feeds is expanded, and select Batch of Items Received or Item Received. Specify the conditions in which want to receive an alert, and select the type of alert.
  3. Click OK to save your settings.

Configuring feeds

You can configure a feed for changes that are made to work items that you own, created, modified, or subscribe to.


  1. Open the Team Dashboard view.
  2. From the top-level menu, click New Section > Events.
  3. In the new Events section, from the menu, click Configure.
  4. On the Feeds page of the Configuration window, select My Work Item Changes.
  5. Use the Filters and Options pages to further configure the section.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.
