Showing and setting link validity and validity summary information for ELM source control files

Link validity is the status of links between artifacts to indicate whether the contents of two artifacts meet the intended meaning of the link between them. You can use the link validity status to achieve consistency across artifacts and links as you make changes that propagate through the linked data.

About this task

See Using link validity in CLM applications to read about link validity concepts and terminology, setting link validity, and using validity summary information in your project.

  1. In the web client, to set the validity status of a link, navigate to the Links page of a file under source control.
  2. Set the status to one of three states: Valid, Invalid, or Suspect (default).
You can set the status to the Valid state after you investigate a link and verify its semantics (for example, you verify an Implements link between a requirement and a file).
