Scheduling search indexing

You can schedule the search index to be updated by minute intervals, particular times of the day, and particular days of the week.

About this task

You can set up a schedule to create or update the search index you configure.


  1. In the Team Artifacts view, expand the project area node node, the Enterprise Extensions node, and then the Context-Aware Search node.
  2. Double-click the Configuration node to open the search configuration editor.
    The Project Area name is populated with the project name from which you selected the configuration node.
  3. On the Schedule tab, click Enabled if you want to update the search index automatically.
  4. If you enable a schedule, you must define when the search index should be updated.
    During search indexing, the client examines the repository to check for changes to any included files, according to what you configured on the Index tab. If you made changes, the search index is updated. You can specify when search indexing takes place by indicating an interval in minutes, a particular time, or on what days indexing should take place. The search index is empty until indexing occurs the first time.
