Setting up indexing and configuring search parameters

Configure the search parameters so the search engine can manage the search index you created.

Before you begin

Before you use the context-aware search, define all the search parameters.

About this task

Defining the context-aware search parameters includes the following steps:
  • Selecting one or more search engines to support the search index
  • Configuring the search index to determine which components or workspace pairs are indexed
  • Scheduling how often to create or update a search index
  • Defining synonyms to use when you create the index
When you complete the configuration, you can click a button on the Status tab to see the status of indexing for each search engine.

  1. In the Team Artifacts view, expand the project area node, the Enterprise Extensions node, and the Context-Aware Search node.
  2. Double-click the Configuration node to open the search configuration editor. The Project Area name is populated with the project name from which you expanded the Configuration node.
  3. If you have defined any search configurations, you can select which configurations are supported by this search engine.
