set preference

Sets the value of the preference. To see the list of valid preferences and their corresponding values, run list preferences -v. Because preferences are global configurations that control the behavior of all the command line client instances that access the same configuration directory, you should not modify the preferences from scripts.

Aliases:

key The key for the preference that is associated with the specified value.
