Lesson 1: Create a view

In this lesson, you create a view, so you can populate it with graphical containers that group a set of indexed artifacts. The associations among containers and artifacts help you visualize the context of your engineering data.

Procedure

  1. Log on to IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Engineering Insights (ENI). In a web browser type http://server:port/relm/web.
  2. To open the project, click JKE Banking on the My Projects tab.
  3. From the menu, click Views > Create View.
Image shows the Create View menu.
    .
  4. Name the view Traceability: feature - test environment.

View shows the Create a view window.

Save the view in the default My Views folder.

    Create an empty view.

Select the Lifecycle Query Engine data source.

  5. Click Next.
  6. To ensure that all the artifacts from all the project areas that you have access to can be included in the view, do not select any of the projects that are listed on the Limit the scope of the view page.
Screen for limiting the project scope.
  7. Click Finish.

Results

The view is created in the My Views folder. On the blank canvas, you can now start to edit the view to populate it with the artifacts that you want to analyze.
A Quick view setup window guides you in populating the view.
  • To close this window, click X in the upper right corner of the window.
  • To open the Quick view setup again, click the question mark.

Open the Quick view setup window.
