Upgrading the EWM Git Integration Toolkit

The IBM® Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) Git Integration Toolkit should be the same version as the EWM server.

About this task

If you used the EWM Git Integration Toolkit with a previous version of EWM, and you upgrade to a newer version of EWM, follow this procedure to upgrade the EWM Git Integration Toolkit.

Procedure

  1. Rename the directory where the previous toolkit was installed. For example, rename /rtc-git-server-toolkit to /rtc-git-server-toolkit-old.
  2. Download a Rational Team Concert™ Node.js server from the download page. The EWM Git Integration toolkit is packaged as a compressed file named Git-Server-Toolkit-release.zip. Extract the package into a local directory, such as /rtc-git-server-toolkit/.
  3. To update the dependencies for Node.js hooks, browse to the /rtc-git-server-toolkit/server directory and run the following command: $> npm install -–production .
Note: If you can access the npm repositories only through a proxy, run the following commands to configure the proxy and re-run the above command:
    npm config set proxy http://"username:password"@proxy:port
    npm config set https-proxy http://"username:password"@proxy:port
Alternatively, you can set the HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY environment variables to the same values and try again. If you cannot access the Internet through a proxy in the server hosting the Node.js server, you can also download the module dependencies separately and copy them to the /rtc-git-server-toolkit/server/node_modules directory.
  4. To update the dependencies for Node.js scripts to register and update Git repositories in EWM, browse to the /rtc-git-server-toolkit/rtcgit-admin-scripts directory and run the following command: $> npm install -–production . The Note from the previous step also applies to this step.
