Deliver changes in a synchronized environment

In this lesson, you use a ClearCase® Synchronized Stream to create change sets in your repository workspace, deliver them to a synchronized stream, and synchronize.

About this task

  1. In IBM® Engineering Workflow Management, from the Package Explorer view, right-click a file to open it in the editor. In this tutorial, the file name is db.txt.
  2. Edit the file by typing the text New Content, and then click the Save (Save icon) icon.

Notice that in the Pending Changes view, you can see the change that you made in the Unresolved folder.

  3. In the Pending Changes view, right-click the Unresolved folder, and then click Check-in and Deliver.
  4. In the Check-in and Deliver page, type a comment, such as Edited text file, and then click Finish.
  5. To synchronize, open the ClearCase Synchronized Streams view, right-click the stream name, and then click Request Synchronization.

The change is delivered to the synchronization stream. Changes that you deliver to the synchronized stream are synchronized with Rational® ClearCase the next time that a synchronize operation is performed on that stream. Changes that are made in Rational ClearCase are displayed as incoming changes for that repository workspace after synchronization is complete.

In the next lesson, you verify that the synchronization completed and the changes exported to the Rational ClearCase workspace.
