Associating change requests with change sets

You can associate a change set and existing or new change requests on different repositories that link by using the Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) specification.

Before you begin

You must configure the Jazz™ Team Servers that host the repositories to communicate with each other. You must also link the IBM® Engineering Workflow Management client for Microsoft Visual Studio IDE project areas. For more information, see Enabling Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration.

  1. In the Pending Changes window, right-click the change set; then click Related Artifacts > Associate Change Request.
  2. In the Select Type window, select the project area where the remote change request is stored. If you are prompted to authenticate, log in using your credentials for the remote repository's server, which is displayed in the Authorization Required window.
  3. To associate with an existing change request, select Select an Existing Change Request.
Note: You can also associate the change set with a new change request by selecting Create a New Change Request.
  4. Click OK. The Select Change Request window opens, with the remote Project Area name pre-populated.
  5. Find and select the change request that you want to link to.
  6. Click OK.

The Links section of the work item is updated to show the Related Change Request link. You can also see the Related Change Management link in the Quick Information section of the Overview tab.
