Setting release and timeline information for snapshots
You can associate snapshots with releases and add timeline and iteration information to snapshots.
About this task
Timeline and iteration information is automatically added for snapshots that are created by Engineering Workflow Management Build processes that use the Engineering Workflow Management source control pre-build configuration. The owner of the build definition is used to determine the timeline and iteration for the snapshots that are created by the Engineering Workflow Management source control pre-build configuration.
- Optional: To overwrite timeline and iteration information to snapshots that are created by Engineering Workflow Management Builds, set the team.scm.customIteration build definition property. For example, setting team.scm.customIteration property to RTC/6.0.5/M1 in the build definition associates the M1 iteration with snapshots that are created by the build.
- Optional: To use the CLI to associate a snapshot with an iteration, use the set attributes command. For example, lscm set attributes -s snapshot1 --iteration RTC/6.0.5/M1.
If you use Engineering Workflow Management Builds and
have snapshots associated with build results, when you create a release by using the
Create a release to associate with this build link on the build result page,
corresponding snapshots are automatically associated with the release.
Note: To associate a snapshot with a new release directly, create a release in a project area and use the add release CLI command. For example, lscm add release --release RTC 6.0.5 snapshot1.Note: To associate Engineering Workflow Management Build result snapshots with corresponding releases, open the project area editor and click the Releases tab. On the Releases page, select the releases; then, click Update Build Snapshot Links.
