Permitting users to modify allocation

If you use the Formal Project Management process template, by default you cannot add or modify allocation periods from the Resources tab or from the Work Environment tab of your profile page. However, if you are part of JazzAdmins repository group or you are the administrator of the project area, you can add or modify allocation periods of all users. If you do not have those permissions, you can add or modify allocation periods by changing a setting in the project area editor.

Before you begin

You must be the administrator or be part of JazzAdmins repository group to modify the project area editor. You can check your permissions from your profile page.

Procedure

  1. In the Team Artifacts view, right-click your project area and click Open.
  2. Click the Process Configuration tab.
  3. Click Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Planning, and then click Work Environment.
  4. In the Permissions field, clear Users cannot modify their own work allocations.
  5. Click Save.

What to do next

All the users of the project area can add or modify allocation periods from their profile page.
