Configuring plan types and views attributes

When you customize work items by adding attributes, you must configure the attributes to display in the plan. First, you add the attributes in the process configuration, and then you can add the column to the plan view.

  1. In the web client, click your project area and your project opens in a new page.
  2. Click Planning > Plan Types and Views.
    1. In the Plan Types field, you can define the default plan view for a plan type. Select the plan type that you want to define:
      • Sprint Backlog [custom]
      • Sprint Kanban Board [custom]
      • Release Backlog [custom]
      • Product Backlog [predefined]
      • Cross-Project Plan [predefined]
Note: This list of plan types types is an example from a Scrum template. Depending on which process template you select, this list may be different.
Click Show Plan View, and select the plan views that you want to define from the list, and click OK.
    2. In the Plan Views field, you can remove any plan views that you do not want to include. Click the plan view that you want to remove and click Remove plan view,
    3. In the Plan View Elements field, you can refine and create group modes, filters, and sort modes.

  3. In each of these configurations, you can click Final to make your selection final. Making a configuration final ensures that the configuration that you have set cannot be overridden at lower levels of the project structure. Selecting Final prevents overriding the project configurations in a child project as well as within the same project, for example, in team areas. Click Save.
Note: Promoting plan views is not supported in the web client; use the eclipse client to promote plan views.
