Creating a Reference To an Automated Test Script On a Local Test Machine

To create a reference to an automated test script on a local machine:

  1. From the left sidebar, point to the Construction icon and click Create Test Script option.
  2. Type a name for the new test script.

    Tip: Be sure to use a name that is same or similar to the name of the actual test script.

  3. Select the type of the test script.

    For Rational Test HP Quick Test Professional, select HP Quick Test Professional 9.x.

  4. In the window that opens, click Use test resources that are local to a test machine. Click the Select Adapter button.
  5. A new window will be displayed where a running adapter should be selected. Click Next.
  6. Provide the project path on the test machine to where the test script resides, for example,

    D:\Program Files\HP\QuickTest Professional\Tests

    Click Go. This will import test scripts from the specified project path.

    Select the script that you wish to reference by selecting the checkbox and then click Finish.

  7. The Script Path textbox will be updated with selected test script.

    Click save.

  8. To run the test script created, create a test case that includes the script and run the test case.
