Approving access requests between servers

After you create a provisional OAuth consumer key and request access from one Jazz™ application to another, use Jazz Team Server administration to grant access by approving provisional OAuth keys on each participating server.

Before you begin

You must be logged in to the product with an account that has Jazz Administrator privileges. An example of the URL for the Jazz Team Server page is https://fully_qualified_host_name:9443/jts/admin.

You must first establish cross-server communication for Jazz products.

You need to complete the following procedure only if someone else created a friend request and couldn't approve it during the friend creation.

  1. On the Java™ Team Server Server Administration page, click the Server tab.
  2. From the menu on the left side of the page, under Communication, click Consumers (Inbound).
  3. On the OAuth Consumers page, in the Provisional Keys section, where new requests are listed, complete the following steps:
    1. Consumer Name: To identify the application that uses the consumer key, update the field with the name of the application that is requesting access to this application.
    2. Trusted: Select this check box if the consumer shares authorization with other trusted consumers.
    3. Authorized: Change the value from Pending to Approved.
  4. Click Save.

The key is displayed in the Authorized Keys section of the page. The requesting Jazz application can now use the key to communicate with this application.

What to do next

You can now create links between project areas on the Jazz Team Servers that are connected by friend links.
